| This page has all the information known on my grandfather. If anyone visiting finds a connection to me, please email me! |
| My great grandfather's name was Robert TURNER. He and his sister came from England sometime in the 1800's as indentured servants, according to my grandmother. Robert may have been Emma TURNER BAKER's sister. I have found a petition in Intruders and Non-Indians in Indian Territory from 1884 where several Creek were trying to have George BAKER and Robert TURNER's permits revoked because they were believed to be members of the Bill Cook gang. The petition also accused them of making their home a rendvous(sic) destroying pecan trees and killing neighbors hogs. I have no idea if my grandfather was associated with the cook gang, or if he was living illegally in the Creek Nation, IT. I do believe that my grandfather was born in 1884 in Okmulgee, though this may be incorrect. Unfortunately,Robert TURNER was a very popular name -lol. |
