Thoughts from Survivors
Bill Miller is my favorite musician.  I chose this background in honor of him.  He has a CD out called Raven In The Snow.  The song Raven In The Snow,  the title song on this CD, contains the words "I will stand out like  a Raven in the snow."  I have always felt that I was different.  I am different, and proud of it.  I am asking for help with this page from others who suffer from PTSD, depression, abuse, illness, vets, anyone who has something to share.  Plesase email me with your submission at bravewmn@bravewmn.net.  Your input is invaluable.  Please visit Bill's web site and listen to his music.  He too is a survivor and his words speak to us.  billmiller.net
PTSD: This illness causes the pain, the bitterness, the lonliness, the tears, a mistrust  and the dreams we awaken us in fear.  Others do not see that we need care, or look at us and try to understand our problems.  We must help our own.
                                 Places
The place is where we are
The person see, is me and PTSD
The why is something nobody knows-
The way is laugh at pain, anger bitterness-
The change, there will never be a change for us-
The way to survival is take the path live and let live

It does not matter in our life,
if we are awake or asleep-
We have that made by PTSD,
can't hide from those things-
Bitterness-
Pain-
Fear-
Anxiety-
No love-
Hate-
Depression-
Dreams-
Flashbacks-
Irritability-
Anger-
Lonely-
Hopeless-
Disillusions-
Afraid-
We all know what PTSD is,
and this is only the beginning

Home is where you can say what you like 'cause    nobody listens
I live in my own little world, bit it's OK, they
   know me here
When you stop believing in the President, you
   get drafted again
I don't have a big ego, I'm in way too much pain
   for that
I love being married married. It's so great to find
   that one special person
After all is said and done, usually more is said
   than done
I married my wife for her looks...but not the
   ones she gives me now
Everyday beat my own record for number of
   days I beat PTSD
Give yourself a hint.  On room door put up sign
   'Screaming is OK'
How come we can chose from just two people
   for president
How long a minute is depends on depression,
   anxiety and crying
Middle age is when you decided to forget
   fighting  your PTSD
Isn't having a smoking section in a restaraunt
   like the Army
Why is it that people you don't know can't
   understand you
Every time I walk into a bar I can hear my wife
   'don't mix with meds'

Today I will not try to mange my illness by trying to control another person.  I will practice self-control instead.
